The Chancellor Livingston Chapter of the NSDAR was formed in 1918 by Mrs. Theodore de Laporte.  The Chapter headquarters are located in the General Montgomery House, the oldest frame house in the village of Rhinebeck, now listed on the N.Y.S. Revolutionary War Heritage Trail.  The house is accredited as a Museum and is open to the public Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th, the first Saturday in December, and Friday and Saturdays 2-4 June through October.  Membership is open to female descendants of patriots of the American Revolution. Regular meetings are held each month. Since its founding, the chapter has been gathering genealogical and historical artifacts and materials.  The items which have been cataloged may be studied by arrangement with the Chapter Librarian.
